I've seen some wiring looms in Germany that aren't too horrendously expensive, but i'd like to eliminate any cheaper potential causes first. I've looked at the engine loom and the dreaded bio-wiring is looking pretty flakey in places with exposed copper showing (the two cables that plug into the distributor caps for example, plus various other places). Can someone point me to it in the picture below?Īnyone got any other tips on how to solve this problem. I wanted to clean the engine idle control valve today but my untrained eye can't see it. It's been to Mercedes and their diagnostic showed no problems (it probably behaved while it was there). Parts already replaced include the two distributor caps, rotor arms, spark plugs, ignition leads. This means the car is useless in the city at the moment, I can't let it misfire too long as the exhaust overheats.

Your options are to replace it with a new throttle position sensor.Next you will need to remove the MAF housing to get access to the CPS. LCP Lower Control Panel: Control unit does not match vehicle type. Then it goes fine, but it will have the lumpy idle if I slow down (no misfire return usually). Now I have a DTC p0120 high 'A 'circuit fault on a 2001 MB E320. It won't clear until I can get to an open stretch of road and give it some agressive acceleration.

It feels like multiple cylinders and the car really struggles to move itself. Almost immediately, or once drive is selected, it will start to misfire. The misfire seems to occur if the car is started, driven approx 10km, parked for 10-15mins then restarted. During summer it ran great, however once the weather changed it's had a rougher idle, with an occasional stumble, and also a sporadic severe misfire. I have a 1994 SL500 (Japan-spec) I imported here to France. I found your forum via Google search and I hope some people here might be able to offer me some advice.
